ACTIVITIES
We have a variety of activities sure to appeal to all types of quilters. Listed below are several of the fun activities enjoyed by Guild members. Many are ongoing. Click on an activity button below descriptions for more information.
Block of the Month
Make just one block with a chance to win enough blocks to make an entire quilt!
Challenge Quilt
Quilt challenge is fun and exciting for members of all skill levels. The challenge is to incorporate as many items as you can to make a quilt from a predetermined list. Watch for upcoming challenges announced during the year in the newsletter and website.
Community Service
One of our service projects - baby quilts are made for the OB unit of Adventist Health Clear Lake Hospital for newborns of deserving families.
Creative Projects
Various creative projects are planned through out the year which include: Block of the Month, Mystery Quilts, Challenge Quilts or Round Robin Quilts. Members participate in as many as they like and are always surprised and delighted by their creations.
Library
Our extensive lending library contains quilting books, magazines and patterns available for member use.
Mystery Quilt
The Mystery Quilt is just that. It could be any size, color, or theme. Clues and instructions are given each month. At the end, participants will share their surprise quilt with the guild.
Opportunity Quilt
One of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Each year a group of talented guild members makes a quilt to be raffled off the last day of our quilt show. The quilt shown at the top of our website pages is this year's Opportunity Quilt. You could be the winner.
Quilt Show
Our Falling Leaves Quilt Show is held the first full weekend every October. We have over 200 quilts on display from quilters near and far, vendors, silent auction, demonstrations and more.
Round Robin
A Round Robin is a fun creative quilt making activity made by several people. The owner of the quilt makes the first block or round according to a given set of instructions and then it's passed on to another several times. At the end of the Round Robin, the original block maker is surprised with a beautifully completed quilt top.
Secret Pal
A fun year long activity to remind "secret pals" how special they are with positive recognition of our care for each other.
Skills Day
We are fortunate to have many talented quilters in our guild. This is the day guild members share their skills, talents and abilities with other guild members.
Treasure Chest
One of our fun fund raisers held at our monthly meeting. Members purchase tickets for a chance to win, what else...FABRIC! The committee has something yummy to appeal to everyone's taste.
Ways and Means
Another ongoing fundraiser which helps promote the guild consisting of guild related items - published recipe book comprised of recipes from guild members, logo pins, logo patches and t-shirts, etc.
Wounded Warriors
A very special joint community service project with the Sonoma Valley American Legion and Travis Air Force Base. Guild members make quilts for our brave wounded warriors returning home from the war.
