Our Purpose

Our purpose as a guild is to contribute to the knowledge of quilting, to promote the appreciation of fine quilts, to encourage quilt making and collecting, and to contribute to the growth and knowledge of quilt techniques, textiles, patterns, history, and quilt making through education meetings, and fellowships.

Skills Day
Skills Day is held on a different day and place other than that of our regular general meeting. It is an informal gathering to work on community projects, share ideas, learn new techniques, encourage each other and help solve problems. It is a day to share something new and exciting with quilting friends. It begins at 10:00 am at the Scotts Valley Women's Center, 2298 Hendricks Road, Lakeport, CA.
Community Involvement
The guild participates in community activities which include making and donating about 200 baby quilts each year to St. Helena Hospital, Clearlake. Each baby born at the hospital receives a handmade quilt made by our members. All members are encouraged to make at least 3 quilts per year. Until recently, the guild participated in honoring our soldiers in combat by making quilts for the Wounded Warriors program.
Quilt Show
We feature an annual "Falling Leaves Quilt Show" the 1st full weekend in October at the Lake County Fairgrounds, Lakeport, CA. This is a judged and open entry show of 200 plus beautiful quilts, vendors, door prizes, and a country store. Our quilt show is quite popular. Quilters who have entered their quilts as well as visitors come from near and far.
Opportunity Quilt
A newly designed Opportunity Quilt is is made each year by several of our talented guild members. The quilt is raffled the last day of the Falling Leaves Quilt Show. Tickets are available for purchase throughout the year by mail or in person by members and the public as well.
Sew and Tell Newsletter
Each member receives our monthly newsletter, Sew and Tell. The newsletter contains articles on future guild programs and activities, chairmen reports, and items of interest. The newsletter may also be viewed here on our website.
