Skill's Day
Pat Dandy, Chairman
Skill's Day was created for Guild Members to share their skills, talents and abilities with other Guild members! We are so lucky to have such talented members willing to teach various quilting techniques!
Our monthly scheduled day is the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10:00 AM, held at the
Scott's Valley Women's Center . Scroll down to see workshops available.
As a courtesy to all, please pre-register. This can be done at any General Meeting. A $10 deposit will be required to hold your spot. At the workshop, if you are present, your deposit will be refunded. If you are not, your deposit will be forfeited and will be considered a donation to the guild.
Members are encouraged to share their talents. If you have an interest or talent please contact the Skill's Day Chairman.
Saturday, February 18th-Quilts for Wounded Soldiers We do have signups for this Skill’s Day but we need more. Please bring long patriotic color scraps. I have some that can be used. Batting and backing is also available. Quilts should measure 45” x 81”. Given the measurements any 9” block works exactly, no borders are needed. Rail Fence using 3 strips (each cut 3-1/2”, for seams) in each block. It couldn’t be easier or faster! Each block is 9-1/2” unfinished-9” finished, Viola…5 x 9 block layout will be exactly 45” x 81” (If you sew long strips together, chop them into 9-1/2” segments, so you will have an unfinished 9-1/2” block.) Remember to bring your sewing machine in good working order and all tools needed for your quilt top. Bring a salad to share for lunch.
