Ladies of the Lake Quilt Guild

Challenge...

It's time for a NEW CHALLENGE!

Starts September '09 General Meeting...

As if everyday life wasn't enough for some of us.

Chairman - Julie Nodine

This challenge will be a mystery quilt created by Judy Hopkins called "Scrap Happy". Now there is a clue right there. The challenge will cost $3.50 to play and this will include all the clues you need to complete the mystery quilt. Bring these funds to the September General Meeting, and this fee will be paid to Judy for the use of her pattern.

I ask that you please do not share your clues with others for 2 reasons.
  • Reason 1: It is copyrighted and must be purchased by the user and not shared with others or used for commercial purposes.
  • Reason 2: The fun is to play the game.

There will be plenty of ways to get the clues. Clues will be given out at the general meetings starting in September '09 to those who have paid. You must start at the September meeting. If you want to play, but can't be at that meeting, send your $3.50 and an envelope with a friend to that meeting. If you must miss a meeting, send an envelope with a friend or mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to me Julie Nodine, and I will mail your clue to you. You can also call me and I will arrange to get a clue to you somehow.

I will have a list of the players and will give requested clues to your friend for you. The finished quilt will be due at the March meeting and a prize will be awarded for the one chosen by the membership as the winner. Just a little teaser! Someone asked how big the finished quilt will be, well that is determined by how many blocks you make. Once you have completed the mystery, you may decide to make more blocks and make a bigger
quilt. Well there is another clue, there will be blocks in this quilt.

What is a Quilt Challenge?

A quilt challenge is an opportunity for guild members to use their quilt skills to create quilted items that meet a specific criteria resulting in a “challenge” to the creator. Participants in the challenge are encouraged to use their creative ideas and fabric stashes to meet the challenge guidelines along with any materials provided as part of the challenge. Because this is a fun and creative process, the use of new techniques and unconventional ways of using traditional objects and designs is strongly encouraged.

Want to Join the fun ??? Open to all Guild Members!!!
