The highlight of our March meeting was "Crazy Quilt". Kerrie Hershey gave us a brief history of Crazy Quilting and demonstrated a modern paper pieced Crazy Quilt method. Barbara Haddon demonstrated traditional and freestyle methods. Kris Nelson shared her extensive collection of antique crazy quilts, fabric, laces, buttons, and other beautiful objects used on crazy quilts. Several other members also shows their collection of crazy quilts. Show and Tell: Art works shown by the following members: Jane Ahrens, Linda Debolt, Quepha , Suzanne Hoyt, Darleen Severn, Barbara Haddon, Kerry Hansing, Kris Nelson Beginner quilters shared their Maple Leaf quilts made in "Beginner Quilt Class" taught by Kerrie Hershey Merri Caywood shows us how she does magics with border fabrics and another great and delightful trunk show. Show & Tell: A sample quilt from Dora Cary (February speaker) was shown. Art works were shared by Jo Syphax, Megan Parker, Debbie Strickler, Linda De Bolt, Marj Sweeney, Quepha Arnold, Nanette Ettinger, Marjean Evans, Kris Nelson, Suzanne Lee The Christmas party was wonderful with big feast, games, gift exchange, and give-away few dozens of quilt tops that were made by former guild member, Julia Close, who passed away 6 years ago. Everyone had a great time. 2023 mystery quilt: Samples of the Twisted Star blocks were shown for member to sign up Show and Tell - Art works were shared by: Jean Elsa, Kerry Hansing, Nanette Ettinger, Pam Ayle, Renee Schultz-Hein, Jo Syphax, and Marj Sweeney. December Christmas Tree block of the month was shared by Carol Corwin Weiss, Barbara Peebles, and Betty Fessler, Show & Tell: Kerrie Hershey, Lianna Burger, Kris Nelson, Betty Fessler, Suzanne Hoyt, Barbara Haddon, Linda Morrison We showed case "Hawaiian Quilting History and Method" by Carrie Fondi in our August meeting. We got to see her amazing quilts focus on free motion quilting as a painting with threads. We had a great feast and thank you to all the ladies who shared their yummy food! Our speaker of the month was Coleen Granger. She came back to us to share her wonderful stories, sense of humor, and amazing art works. The topic of Coleen's lecture was "Playing with Precuts - It's about a variety of ways to use precut packs." The Sunday class with Coleen was on "Ninja Star + other Granger's UFO". Students learned to make Ninja Star using paper piecing technique.
